Work experience

This my second to do the work foe work experience. Absolutely, my mum’s company was also a good choice to go to work. My job was a typist just like the last time. Because it was an only job that suitable for me. When I got in the office, the room had changed a lot. Mr. Wang is my colleague who was asked to teach me how to use the computer quickly foe the job. I am sure I cannot write the English into the computer fast, but not for the Chinese. However, Mr. Wang is a good teacher to teach typing Chinese more fast. He asked me to use different input methods to type. Now, I think my speed of typing have a lot improvement.

Now I want to introduce the type of this job.

Typist is a civilian who use the typewriter to type. The job was very popular in 19th century. The typists must be very careful and patient, because there must not have any spelling mistake and errors. The typists don’t need some abilities such like be creative to do something, but must hard working because it will be very serious if the document have any errors.

During this work experience, I type the document first and Mr. Wang help me to check the document if they have any problems. Unluckily, the every document from me all had a little problem such as the blanks, wrong words or some punctuation. I realized the job is a little difficult for me. The computer is a one of the most important tools, I must use it very well if I want to be a good personnel. It is a huge challenge for me.

I had also learned some skills to use the computer after the experience, how to use the software is very necessary for a type and type faster. I think it was a good chance to know the job in the future.

Act in a Performance

There was a big project for grade 10 and we all had prepared for this project for about 4 weeks. The members of our group have Diane, Lucy, Mike and me. First, we made a plan for the work in the Art class. Diane’s work was writing the introduction of the every clothes. Lucy and Mike’s were designing and mine was to make the poster for the fashion show and my extra work was helping to oil the clothes.
The poster took me three nights to finish. It was my first time to poster on the computer, so I must speed a little time to know the software. I choose a photo of a model to be the background of the poster. Then I add the words about the fashion show on the background. Maybe it sound a little easy to do, but I must adjust the size of the words to prevent to cover the model. At last, I used USB to print the picture in the shop.
We choose a mummy clothes to join the fashion show because we thought this king of clothes was very suitable to wear at the Halloween party although it was a little strange and special. However, we all did a good job.

Go to a Performance

That was a Friday. A play called The Taming of the Shrew was holding in GCA. And the actors were all students in GCA. The teacher was Mrs. Mitschrich who was our English teacher and supported this performance. This performance was very suitable for the students to learn the English.

This play was written by William Shakespeare and was one of the most popular comedies. The play told a story about a lady called Katharina who was very irritable and stubborn. The characters made her cannot to choose a suitable man to marry. However, Petruchio used a violent method to treat her and make a big success.

That night was very unforgettable because the play was very successful and all the actor did a good job. During the play, I always shake my friend, Bobby, because of the excitement. I am so happy that my classmate, Richard, also was a actor in this play and did a good job.

This kind of performance is a very good chance to practice our English

Public Event

On May 2, 2009, is the first day in 2009 in China because it had been an ancient tradition for a long time. During these days was Chinese spring festival. The Chinese spring festival is very famous in china that family members can be together just like Christmas in the west countries. However, I was so regretful that this year did not have any snow in Nanjing because I always like to play snow fight during the Chinese spring festival.

There are many customs during the Chinese spring festival. For example, children will be very happy that they can get much pocket money, new clothe and play firework with their friends. They all almost enjoy the time during the festival. People often held a dinner party at home or in the restaurants. Delicious food is so welcomed by children.

At night, I was staying in home with my family to watch the Spring Festival evening gala. The performers were all very nice and often made us laugh. I thought that was an unforgettable for me and my grandfather who did not live alone and we cannot often see each other. And I realized the family feeling was so good at the same time.

The sound of the firework did not stop all the night. At the second day of the year, I visited and my father’s friends all the time. Absolutely, I had gotten much money for myself.

And I always remembered, a New day a New hopes.

Work Experience

During this holiday, I have worked in my mother’s company called”Kun Hua Yu Yun”. My job is typist. I plan to divide the time into 3 days.
20th Jan.
Today, I am so excited that I am an officer now. in the morning, I go to the company with my mum by bus. It is my second time to go to the company, but this time, I must stay in another room with my computer. During the first hour, I am a little relax because the document is not be send, nut after one hour, I am busier.
21th Jan.
I go to company by myself. When I arrive at the building, everything is stranger. Then I go to my room to start the work.
23th Jan.
Today is the last work day. So I work very carefully.
I have learned many things from the work for 10 hours. Living is not easy for a lazy man. You must try your best to work, although we are students now.

Physical Activity

In the many American movies, the actors were very strong and sturdy, because they always train themselves in the evening. The number of the gymnasiums in the US and Europe are very huge and popular. Someone goes to there for the job, such as the basketball players. The training can improve their physique and weight.
Now, I am a member of basketball club. I must improve my technique and physique. In Xin Jiekou. I have taken part in a gymnasium called “Impulse”. It was very famous in China. Every Monday and Friday, I always go to there with my classmate.
There is a big field. It is divided into two parts. One is mechanical and another is free. There are many barbells in the free field. Beside the field, there is a bathroom.
The first time is very strange to me. After 2 hours, I do not have any energy to do anything. I sleep very quickly when I go back home.
However, the second time is better because I go there with my classmate. We chat each other very happily. The time went very fast.

Chinese Character Museum

Last Sunday, Nick, who is my classmate, and I visited a museum about Chinese character after the lesson. The museum was not very big and had a long history about 10 years. The ticket of the museum was free. So we just need take some from the entrance guard.
The penmen could make Chinese characters into different meanings from their style of calligraphy. That was why the Chinese characters could be seen as artworks. Chinese characters are different from English words completely. They are a kind of pictograms. For example, Chinese character “人”, means human. If it was very neat and deep, people can think the person has sense of justice. That is also one of the most important reason that the Chinese character can be artworks.
A big artwork of Chinese character appeared as soon as we walked into the museum. It was a Chinese idiom. It meant an adjective about a person who has a lot of experience and good characters. The style of calligraphy of the Chinese characters were ancient.

Western Restaurant

Today is March 14, 2009. My mum brings me to western restaurant to have lunch. The restaurant is beside the Hunan Road. The beefsteak is the entree is the restaurant.
The color of the wall in the restaurant is warm. Such as red and orange. On the left, there is a big hip-pop picture.
The two pieces of beefsteak take us 120 yuan. The waitress asks me how deep beefsteak is I need. I choose the normal level.
The first dish is salad. It is similar as French salad. However, it is a little sour. Then the orange juice makes better a lot.
Five minutes later, the waitress takes the beefsteak. He asks me take the cloth up that can produce the soup splashes on our clothes.
The beef is also a little hot. I take a piece of them with fork and knife. Then I put it into my mouth carefully. It is very delicious and soft. After that, I finish that very fast because I wait for that for a long time.
At last, the dish is a small apple pie.

The Experience of the Club

In GCA, there are so many clubs that can be chosen. Such as Volunteer Club, Basketball Club, Soccer Club, Singing Club ect. Of cause, I have chosen the Basketball Club since I was a student of GCA.
Basketball is the one of the most famous sport in the world. It is suit to everyone.When I was very young, I got a new basketball as a present on my birthday. I was crazy about the game at that time even though I was not good at passing the ball. I played the new basketball with my friend every day. Dring my childhood, the ball accompanied me the most time.
In the club, our instructor is a Social Studies teacher-Sexby. He was a ceremonial team member in Canada. My classmates said he could slam dunked because of his height. I was so surprise to this news because my wish was that I can slam dunk. So I think I must practise jumping until I can touch the backboard.
The club trainning in this half of term devided into two parts and the time was on Monday, Wendesday or Thursday. At the beginning, we trainned on the playground. We ran ten to fifteen loops per time.I am a runnning player, so it was not very difficult to me. I remenber I was hurt my foot on a Monday. I asked to withdraw the trainning. The exercise after the trainning of body strength is very important. It made us relax and could prevent clonus.
The second part is trainning in the basketball court of gym. Sexby divided us into some groups to play the game. And the winner could be a member of the basketball team.

Wu Weishan Sculpture Exhibition

On that Thursday, Ms Bartell and Ms Hadley brought our two classes to go to Nanjing University to watch the Wu Weishan Sculpture Exhibition. The artist is Member of British Royal Society of Sculptors; Member of British Society of Portrait Sculptors; Member of the National City Sculpture Construction Committee; Invited Director of Chinese Society of Sculptors.
Wu Weishan is a famous who has a big international influence. He made a lot of artworks about famous people in the world. The style of his artworks was very special-Meaning and Changing. He called the Sculptor of Times. In 1996, he was invited to sculpture for Netherlands’ queen.
She said“Professor Wu Weishan is a pre-eminent sculptor of the new generation. His sculptures are highly praised for the blending of Chinese traditional styles with elements of modern sculpture. He holds much reverence for tradition, and philosophically bases his works on an Oriental aesthetic standard.”
When we at the gate of the exhibition. There was a small garden besides the building. In the garden, there were some artworks by Wu Weishan. The biggest one is Kong Zi who was the philosopher in China. Beside the Kong Zi, there were two men. One is a boss and another one is accountant. The accountant’s eyes were coins. Means the man always be smart on money.
In the room, the place was so large and bright. There were many artworks by Wu Weishan. The picture was a famous Chinese people and me. There was a big artwork in the corner of the room.
From the guide, we knew the artwork was the most famous by Wu Weishan. It was Sleeping Baby. When Wu Weishan went to his friend’s house, the baby was sleeping. Suddenly, his inspiration came. He picked a piece of mud and made it into a head of the baby. The artwork was like a small egg. From the artwork, the face of the baby is very lovely; he narrowed his eyes and opened his small mouth. Appearance was so natural and realistic. When Wu Weishan finished the artwork, the baby waked up. Although the artwork was not very specific, but you also can see the most true baby.
This artwork made us very comfortable and lets me to think many things about this sleeping baby. Maybe he was dreaming about the games or candies.
So, I like this artwork very much. The baby reminds me many things about my childhood. Like a sun in the morning. I like his mouth best. The small mouth opened slightly. The lips were pouting. He was squinting and looking up.
The exhibition teaches me many things. A good artwork not only should be realistic, but also meaning and natural.

The French Restaurant

Our class went to a foreign restaurant with students who in Grade 11 in Nanjing. Before, they planned to go to Indian restaurant, because the Indian restaurant is cheap and special. But wo changed, because Hugo’s mother has hold a French restaurant in Nanjing.On 21st Dec, we arrived at Hugo’s restaurant on 11:30.(But someone is late.So we delay the time) I was so excited when I saw the restaurant. It so different from Chinese restaurant. The most of color on the wall and lights are red. They looked like very warm and romantic. They are only 2-4people per table.In the passenger compartment,there was two tables. Joseph, Abe, Tracy and me sat in the smaller table.
In our table,there were forks, scoops, knives and big slates.The first dish was salad of vegatables.We ate it very fast, because we were so hungry.The vegatables were all from Frace. But I did’t think they were different from Chinese.
The second dish was soup of punpkin. And it my favourite food dring the dinner. It was very different. The soup are very tasty and sweet.
Then, the third dish was main dish. It was roast chicken. We ate it with knives and forks. The chicken was delicious, too.
Last dish was apple pie. It sweet , too.
After the dinner, we took a photo in front of the restaurant.

Different countries have different civilization. Repast is a important civilization.
